Job summary

Distinctive Schools seeks an Elementary School Teacher in Chicago, IL. The role reports to the Principal and starts with a starting salary for certified teachers at $70,000 per year.

This is a Regular Full Time position with a commitment to diverse, joyful, welcoming communities rooted in social justice and rigorous learning. The teacher will implement the DS Model, design grade-level lessons, assess student progress, and maintain strong communication with families while fostering an inclusive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Valid Professional Educator License with the Illinois State Board of Education or enrollment in a Teacher Certification program within 30 days of employment.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and cloud-based tools.
• Travel for training and collaboration as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a student-centered perspective in decision making.
• Deliver instruction aligned to grade-level standards using core curriculum.
• Communicate progress with students and families.
• Participate in required professional development and campus/network activities.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
