Distinctive Schools is seeking a High School Spanish Teacher in Chicago, IL. The role reports to the Principal and starts November 2026 with a starting salary for certified teachers at $70,000.

This Regular Full Time position requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Illinois teaching license or enrollment in a certification program. The teacher will implement the DS Model, foster student-centered instruction, assess progress, and maintain strong communication with families, with a focus on high

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Educator License with the Illinois State Board of Education or proof of enrollment into a Teacher Certification program within 30 days of employment.
• Proficient with cloud based software solutions (Google Suite).
• Ability to review and analyze student and campus data from multiple sources.
• Ability to learn digital tools and programs as needed for the position.
• Travel as required for training, professional development, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Implement the DS Model.
• Provide consistent opportunities for all students to work on grade-appropriate assignments using the core curriculum, resources, and strategies with frequent checks for understanding.
• Deliver instruction that engages students and requires cognitive effort at a high level.
• Use core instructional tools to design, prepare and deliver lessons aligned to grade-level standards.
• Maintain inventory of instructional materials and keep accurate records of progress.
