Job summary

Gila Crossing Community School seeks an Elementary Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate instruction for elementary students. The teacher will plan standards-based lessons, monitor progress, and foster a supportive learning environment that enhances academic, social, and emotional growth.

The role requires AZ teaching certification for the grade level and subject, a bachelor's degree, First Aid/CPR, and successful completion of pre-employment background checks.

Qualifications

  • Arizona teaching certification appropriate for the grade level and subject area.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • First Aid/CPR Certified.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Arizona standards.
  • Prepare and maintain timely, standards-aligned lesson plans.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment and management procedures.
  • Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, progress, and required documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, specialists, and administration to support student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Support school programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
  • Follow school policies, state requirements, and applicable laws.

Contract: 10 months

  • Ability to use instructional technology and standard office equipment.

Job Summary:

The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing effective, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction to elementary students. The teacher plans and delivers standards-based lessons, monitors student progress, maintains a positive learning environment, and supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.

  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures and a positive learning environment.
  • Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student achievement and guide instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, progress, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, specialists, and administration to support student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development activities and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Support school-wide programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, state requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or administration.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:

Newly appointed employees will be subject to an initial ninety (90) calendar day probation period.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
