Job summary

Gila Crossing Community School is seeking an Elementary Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate instruction for elementary students. The teacher will plan and deliver standards-based lessons, monitor progress, and support academic, social, and emotional development of all students.

The role requires collaboration with staff, families, and administration to ensure high-quality instruction and a positive classroom environment aligned with Arizona standards.

Qualifications

• Arizona teaching certification appropriate for the grade level and subject.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Arizona academic standards.
• Prepare, submit, and maintain timely, standards-aligned lesson plans.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures and a positive learning environment.
• Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student achievement and guide instruction.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, progress, and other required documentation.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, specialists, and administration to support student achievement.
• Participate in professional development activities and implement effective instructional practices.
• Support school-wide programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
• Follow all school policies, procedures, state requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or administration.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:

Newly appointed employees will be subject to an initial ninety (90) calendar day probation period.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
