Job summary

Hopkins Public Schools seeks a Licensed School Social Worker to provide direct and indirect social work services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, coordinating with families and community partners to support learning and well-being.

Under the Assistant Director of Student Services and Building Principal, you will address issues affecting school performance and collaborate with staff to implement evidence-based interventions, while promoting equity and inclusion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field.
• Licensed School Social Worker by MDE.
• Experience in district equity and student services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs due process duties; serves as administrative designee on IEP team and handles meetings, notes, and paperwork.
• Provides direct social/emotional services to students.
• Parental communication and family outreach.
• Provides evidence-based and culturally responsive interventions; consults with staff on support for students.
• Collaborates with community mental health providers and case managers.
• Connects students and families with resources and basic needs.
• Offers individual and group support on grief, trauma, and crisis resources; coordinates crisis assessments.
• Prepares Child Protective Services referrals for abuse/neglect concerns.
• Implements attendance interventions and coordinates 504 accommodations.
• Intervenes in student alcohol/drug issues.
• Supports district mission and maintains professional conduct.
