James H. Rodriguez Elementary in Española, New Mexico seeks a General Ed Social Worker to implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the four ASCA components, addressing students' academic, career, personal, and social development.

The role reports to the site principal and involves collaboration with teachers and families to promote student success. This is a part-time, 163-day position with hours from 7:15 am to 3:50 pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum: School Counselor license issued by NMPED.
• Knowledge of elementary and secondary counseling practices.
• Ability to maintain relationships with teachers, administrators, and families.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate needs assessments for the counseling program and evaluate for improvement.
• Develop a school counseling program driven by student data to support academics and personal/social development.
• Implement the ASCA four components: Foundation, Management, Delivery, Accountability.
• Share plans with principals and staff and keep them informed of progress.
• Provide short-term individual and group counseling for students.
• Refer families to outside agencies for mental health needs.
• Orient students and parents on education goals and career objectives.
• Consult with administration and staff on student needs.
• Participate in district counseling meetings to stay current on policies.
