Young World Physical Education is seeking a School Counselor for Espanola Public Schools. The position involves developing and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program to address the academic, career, and social needs of students. The ideal candidate will possess a School Counselor license and strong counseling practices knowledge.
The role includes providing individual and group counseling, consulting with staff and parents, and participating in district-level counseling meetings. The position is part-time and reports to the Site Principal.

General Job Function: Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the four program components of the ASCA model, to address the academic, career, personal, and social development needs of all students.
Education/Training/Experience: Minimum – School Counselor license issued by NMPED
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of elementary and secondary best counseling practices. Ability to form and maintain good working relationships with teachers, administrators, and families. Ability to make autonomous and independent decisions within a framework of broadly stated policy guidelines, precedents, specialized knowledge, and prior research. Demonstrated organization, communication, management, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
Resources Used in Performing Job Include: Standard office equipment. Basic office computer program abilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).
Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; communicate verbally and electronically; reach with hands and arms; stand and move throughout the building and/or to other facilities, and drive. Occasionally required to lift and/or exert force of up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel to facilities throughout the district is integral to the job.
