Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful experience as a certified teacher at the elementary level
• Certified as an intermediate supervisor (#092) in Connecticut
• Knowledge of best practices in instruction, curriculum, and assessment
• Experience with data-driven instruction and decision-making
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administrators, and parents
• Ability to problem solve and reach consensus
• Minimum of three years as a building or district administrator
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Understanding of systems thinking and its implications for change and improvement

Responsibilities

• Coordinate curriculum and instruction between grades and schools
• Regularly visit classrooms and provide leadership for curriculum and instructional improvement
• Ensure curriculum is implemented as written
• Provide learning materials to support student progress
• Lead in the use of technology to improve teaching and learning
• Plan programs, schedules, and assignments for staff
• Recruit, screen, and hire school personnel
• Evaluate and supervise staff and provide substitutes as needed
• Promote a positive school climate and safe environment
• Manage school budget and resources
