Job summary

Avon Board of Education seeks a Pine Grove School Principal (K-4) in Avon, CT. You will lead the instructional program, supervise staff, and ensure a safe, positive learning environment aligned with district goals.

Reports to the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent. Compensation follows district agreement; benefits include insurance, PTO, and tax-shelter annuity. Open until filled.

Qualifications

• Certified elementary teacher; CT intermediate supervisor (#092) certification.
• Minimum three years as building/district administrator.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of data-driven instruction and decision-making.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administrators and parents.
• Understanding of systems thinking for change and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum and instruction across grades; coordinate between schools.
• Regularly visit classrooms and provide leadership for instructional improvement.
• Ensure curriculum is implemented as written.
• Oversee budget planning and expenditures within the approved budget.
• Promote a positive school culture and climate for learning.
• Coordinate recruitment, evaluation and supervision of staff.
• Maintain safety and health of students and staff.
