Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; equivalent experience may count.
• One year of custodial experience required.

• Must pass written skills test on file.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.

Responsibilities

• Opens school plant in the morning and checks for vandalism.
• Checks heating and electrical equipment and facilities; reports issues.
• Surveys buildings and grounds for hazards; reports findings to supervisor.
• Makes minor repairs to custodial equipment and classroom furniture.
• Cleans outside of building and removes snow; keeps entrances clear.
• Keeps school grounds clean and safe by removing trash daily.
• Maintains playground equipment in safe condition and reports repairs.
• Assists teachers as requested and prepares rooms for meetings.
