Qualifications

• Must hold acceptable NJ certification as an Occupational Therapist.
• Must possess strong communication, managerial and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and legal requirements surrounding the responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a diverse school community.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to effectively help students develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.
• Ability to work as part of a highly functioning administrative team.
• Required criminal background check and proof of US citizenship or legal alien status.
• Ability to work on site during the hours required.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Identification and Assessment: assess occupational capabilities and related skills.
• Instruction and Planning: plan and deliver treatment programs; liaise with Child Study Team; conduct sessions; manage equipment and supplies; monitor IEP objectives.
• Professional Development: stay updated on techniques and statutory requirements; maintain professional competence; use clear English in communications.
• School/Community Relations: inform parents; serve as a resource; collaborate with staff; participate in teams; build community relationships.
• Other Assigned Duties: as required.
