Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools – Henrietta Lacks Elementary School, Stone Ridge, Virginia, is seeking an Elementary School Dean to lead curriculum planning, instruction, assessment, student conduct and attendance, school plant operations, and supervision of staff.

Responsibilities include supervising licensed and classified personnel, coordinating PBIS, chairing IEP/Eligibility meetings, and liaising with parents and community; strong leadership, communication and presentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK-12.
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years of successful experience as a teacher, administrator, or supervisor.
• Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate licensed and classified personnel; assign duties to faculty and staff as appropriate to meet school objectives; manages school operations in the absence of the Principal and Assistant Principal; assists with the supervision of custodial staff and providing substitutes for the school staff.
• Interpret school and district programs, policies, and procedures to students, parents, staff and community under the supervision of the Principal or his/her designee.
• Lead PBIS development and disciplinary intervention steps and processes; work with students to support educational needs; foster community partnerships and parent outreach.
• Supervise students during arrival, lunch, and after-school activities.
• Review lesson plans, report cards and interims, attendance reports, and student achievement data.
• Chair Child Study, eligibility, and IEP meetings; monitor instruction for compliance with Special Education regulations.
• Perform related work as required.
