Job summary

Holly Springs Elementary School in Canton, Georgia is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain a healthy, safe, and attractive school environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This salaried, non-exempt position reports to the Principal or Designee and requires basic cleaning skills, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, climbing ladders, following written and oral instructions, and working well with others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; basic cleaning knowledge.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds and climb ladders.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and work with others.
• Willing to learn and participate in training programs.

Responsibilities

• Accept direction from Head Custodian, Supervisor, or Administrator.
• Perform custodial and preventative maintenance duties in all areas/locations.
• Clean woodwork, walls, furniture, and windows using approved products.
• Mop, scrub, strip, wax, shampoo, vacuum, and spot-clean floors.
• Move furnishings as required for routine cleaning and events.
• Operate basic cleaning equipment with care and report safety concerns.
• Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and district policies.
