Job summary

The Willow School in Gladstone, NJ seeks one highly qualified full-time Kindergarten Assistant Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The counselor will join a dedicated team of lower school homeroom and specials teachers and will align with the school's mission and community.

Responsibilities include counseling services, academic support, social-emotional development, crisis intervention, Child Study support, parental and teacher collaboration, and professional development for staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, personal, and social issues.
• Assist students in developing problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify and address academic challenges faced by students.
• Conduct academic assessments and help students set educational goals.
• Participate in school RTI programs.
• Implement programs to promote social and emotional learning.
• Develop, update, and support implementation of student behavior plans.
• Support students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Facilitate school initiatives that promote positive behavior systems.
• Respond to and manage crises or emergencies affecting students.
• Collaborate with other staff and external resources to provide immediate support.
• Facilitate Child Study Team meetings and accommodations plans.
