Job summary

Accomack County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for Accawmacke Elementary School in Accomac, Virginia. The position supports the principal in day-to-day operations, planning, administration, and management of the school to ensure a safe, productive environment.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree, eligibility for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License in administration and supervision, and three years of teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Eligibility for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License in administration and supervision.
• Three (3) years of successful experience as a teacher; some experience at the elementary school level.

Responsibilities

• Assists the school principal in the general administration of the school.
• Interprets and enforces school board policies and administrative regulations.
• Develops, administers, and evaluates the elementary school curriculum and instructional programs.
• Supervises and monitors student attendance, counseling, assessment, and other student services.
• Coordinates transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services at the school.
• Counsels students and administers disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Conferences with parents regarding discipline and academic achievement.
