Job summary

Weld RE-5J School District in Colorado is seeking a motivated high school student to join us as an Elementary School Student Aide. You will support teachers, assist in classrooms, and help with non-instructional tasks in a collaborative school environment.

Applicants must be a Roosevelt High School student, 16 or older, with strong communication and math skills, and the ability to follow instructions. Preference for Teacher Cadet and Work-Based Learning in Family Consumer Science.

Qualifications

• Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
• Ability to establish supportive and compassionate relationships with students.
• Interest in education and child development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in reading, language arts, mathematics and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Prepare and reinforce instructional materials for individual needs.
• Supervise non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus duty, playground and study halls.
