Job summary

Fairview School District in Fairview, PA is seeking an Elementary Recess Monitor to support a safe, positive recess for students at Fairview Elementary School. The role is part-time, 3.5 hours daily from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., starting immediately.

Reporting to the Building Principal, you will supervise students, manage activities, and communicate concerns to staff. Qualifications include experience with children and meeting state health standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with children.
• Meet minimum health standards as directed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during designated recess times and areas both inside and outside of Fairview Elementary School.
• Ensure a safe and fun environment for students to play and socialize.
• Manage outside recess equipment, set-up, clean-up, and maintenance.
• Communicate to teachers any behaviors that disrupt the rules for recess or cause an unsafe environment.
• Ensure that various processes/procedures are established and maintained which will ensure a safe and orderly environment.
• Maintain a high degree of positivity and enthusiasm for the job.
• Report and/or update the principal or teachers on issues or problems related to job duties.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the principal.
