Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Teacher for Scenic Heights Elementary to deliver reading and basic skills instruction and align lessons to district curricula. The teacher will develop plans, provide targeted instruction, and monitor student growth, maintaining records and progress reports.

Collaboration with staff and ongoing professional development are expected, including communication with families via Schoology and meetings.

Qualifications

Minnesota K-6 Elementary Education or K-12 Reading license.
Experience in developing lesson plans and instructional materials.
Ability to communicate with parents via multiple channels.
Willingness to collaborate with staff and participate in PLCs.

Responsibilities

Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to pupil needs.
Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for an effective learning atmosphere.
Evaluates pupils' growth, keeps records, and prepares progress reports.
Identifies pupil needs and develops strategies for individual education plans.
Communicates with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, emails, conferences.
Works collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
Maintains and improves professional skills through meetings, coursework, and seminars.
Participates in a professional learning community regularly.
Integrates technology into instruction.
Performs other duties of a similar nature.
