Job summary

Cheshire Public Schools’ Highland Elementary School seeks a part-time Learning Support Tutor (LST) to provide intervention and instruction to students not yet at grade level in reading or math. The LST works with individuals or small groups under the schedule and protocol of certified teachers and the school principal.

Responsibilities include progress monitoring assessments and data entry, with supervision by the Principal or Assistant Superintendent. Salary starts at $20.00/hour.

Qualifications

• College degree; teaching certification preferred
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of reading and writing skill building
• Knowledge of foundational math concepts
• Knowledge of progress monitoring measures (eg. reading fluency and comprehension)
• Experience working with elementary students

Responsibilities

• Provide intervention and instruction to students not yet performing at grade level in reading or math
• Work with individual students or small groups
• Follow schedule and protocol provided by certified teachers and the school principal
• Perform progress monitoring assessments and data entry
• Supervise by School Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent as designee
