Job summary

Richland County School District One in Columbia, SC seeks a Reading Coach for 2026-2027 to lead literacy improvement at the elementary level. You will provide job-embedded professional learning, coaching teachers, and support instruction to raise reading proficiency.

You will analyze literacy data, design professional development aligned to Read to Succeed, and collaborate with administrators to plan literacy initiatives while maintaining documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Holds a bachelor's degree or higher and R2S endorsement, or pursuing the endorsement.
• At least five years' experience in reading or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Strong knowledge of the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide job-embedded coaching to teachers through modeling, co-planning, and feedback.
• Support teachers in evidence-based literacy instruction and assessment practices.
• Collaborate with administrators to analyze literacy data and set goals.
• Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to Read to Succeed.
• Maintain coaching documentation and contribute to literacy plans.
