Job summary

• Thorough knowledge of MCPS policies and procedures, the Call to Action Plan, the Program of Studies, and state and federal regulations and laws.
• Thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, organizational patterns, school operations, and pupil services.
• Demonstrated competence in staff selection, training, supervision and evaluation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to act under stress.
• Ability to motivate, encourage, and work with staff to achieve outstanding performance and morale.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Under direction, administer and supervise the total school program and provide educational leadership.
• Establish a climate conducive to learning, define roles, plan and coordinate programs.
• Effect change and make decisions; duties may be delegated to assistants.
• Respond to school requirements at any time, including evenings and weekends.
