Job summary

Grandview School District is seeking a part-time safety monitor to intervene in conflicts and emergencies during recess and patrol campus areas. The role involves documenting incidents and referring issues to appropriate staff to maintain a secure learning environment.

The position is temporary, with a 0.5-hour shift, five days a week, and pays between $18.76 and $24.03 per hour. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Intervenes in potential conflicts and emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of campus activities and/or injury to involved parties during recess.
• Monitors student behavior during and between assigned periods for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and secure facility.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. incident reports, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
• Refers incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. to appropriate site personnel for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety guidelines.
