Physical Education Teacher - Full Time
Location: Westmore Elementary

Position Purpose
To develop students' interest, abilities, talents, and skills in physical education by implementing district-approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling necessary skills; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and giving feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Knowledge of elementary curriculum across all subject matters.
• Knowledge of data systems, analysis, and action plan formulation.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer networks and software applications.
• Organizational and coordination skills.
• Effective communication with students and parents.
• Self-evaluation and professional growth capabilities.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships.

Qualifications Profile
Certification/License: Illinois State Certification as Elementary Physical Education Teacher

Education
Bachelor's degree in education or applicable teaching discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience
Prior successful teaching experience in physical education at the appropriate grade level preferred.
