Position: Elementary Physical Education Teacher

School: Minnesota Math and Science Academy, St. Paul, MN

Minnesota Math and Science Academy is a K-12 public charter school located in St. Paul, Minnesota. MMSA is searching for an enthusiastic teacher who wants to be part of a dynamic community and make a positive impact on students' lives. This position begins with the 2024-25 school year.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and sports, based on Minnesota State Standards.
• Demonstrate and explain basic skills, strategies, and techniques for sports, games, and body movement fundamentals.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Ensure safety by providing instructions and inspecting equipment and field areas.
• Manage school-owned property responsibly.
• Maintain a positive and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
• Assess student progress in physical skills, knowledge, and teamwork.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
• Maintain respectful and professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications:

• Valid MN teaching license
• Willingness to work with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels
