Elementary Pastor

Status: Full-Time

Compensation: Weekly at Agreed Upon Salary

Position Summary

This position will focus on fulfilling the Equipping portion of the church’s mission. It will focus primarily on the Elementary children and their families discipleship portion of the church’s mission. The Elementary Pastor will work alongside the other children and student pastors to assure children are connected to the ministry of SCC and passed along appropriately from one age group to the next.

Organizational Relationship and Supervision

Day to day oversight will come from the Executive Pastor in collaboration with the Lead Pastor. Ultimately all staff and leaders follow the Biblical example of submitting to the leadership and vision of the elders of Shelby Christian Church.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as point-leader of the Elementary Ministry Team (K-5th) responsible to provide vision, direction, spiritual oversight, accountability, strategic development, and coaching for ministry team members.
• Establish and oversee elementary ministry implementation plan and budget.
• Responsible for the alignment of the core curriculum throughout the elementary student’s life (Large Group environments, Small Group environments and Wednesday night).
• Lead and grow Sunday morning and Thursday evening programs, both spiritually and numerically.
• Prepare materials and lead students through class about accepting Christ. Partner with parents to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Recruit and develop the volunteer staff to plan and implement ministry programs.
• Approve all elementary ministries programs, curriculum, activities and disbursement of funds in accordance to budget and implementation plan.
