Job summary

Lakes Area Vineyard Church is seeking an Elementary Ministry Coordinator to support the 6 through 5th grade ministry. This part-time role involves mentoring children, coordinating Sunday activities, and guiding volunteer teams to create nurturing spiritual experiences.

You will partner with church staff to develop age-appropriate programs, build relationships with families, and help implement discipleship initiatives across the ministry.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sunday ministry for ages 6 through 5th grade, creating an engaging environment.
• Adapt curriculum to disciple elementary students and apply God’s Word.
• Communicate with parents and provide resources for family faith formation.
• Recruit, train, and support elementary ministry volunteers.
• Develop opportunities beyond Sunday, including events and VBS.
• Coordinate curriculum, supplies, spaces, and budget with ministry pastors.

Job description

POSITION:Elementary Ministry Coordinator

AGES:Ages 6 through 5th Grade

HOURS: Part time (16 hours/week)

REPORTS TO: Marriage & Family Pastor

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sunday Ministry

• Lead and coordinate Sunday ministry for Age 6 through 5th Grade, creating an engaging environment centered on Biblical teaching, worship, relationships, and spiritual growth.
• Implement and adapt curriculum to effectively disciple elementary-aged children and help them to learn and apply God’s Word to their lives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and provide resources that help families engage in the spiritual formation of their children.

Team Recruiting & Development

• Recruit, train, schedule, encourage, and develop elementary ministry volunteers and small-group leaders.
• Equip volunteers to build meaningful relationships with children and confidently lead them in Biblical discussion, prayer, and ministry.

Discipleship & Events

• Develop opportunities beyond the regular Sunday environment that help children build relationships, experience God, and grow in their faith.
• Help lead annual VBS, children's special events, outreach opportunities, and other age-appropriate ministry experiences.

Administration

• Coordinate curriculum, supplies, ministry spaces, and assigned budget while partnering with the Early Childhood Ministry Coordinator and Marriage & Family Pastor.

Perform all other duties as assigned or apparent

• Ability to recruit, lead, encourage, and develop volunteer teams.
• Experience working with young children, families, children's ministry, or a related field preferred.
