Job summary

Paw Paw Public Schools is seeking part-time specials teachers in Art, Physical Education, and Technology/STEAM to provide instruction as part of our Shared Time Program with St. Mary Catholic School.

Qualifications include a Michigan teaching certificate (Elementary certification or content-area). A major in the subject area and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree are strongly preferred. Instructors teachKindergarten–5th grade and may administer tests, develop plans, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for grades and content areas served, which may be satisfied by Elementary Certification (ZG) or content area certification in specific content area(s) sought for employment and programming
• A major in the subject area is strongly preferred, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in grades Kindergarten through 5th, concentrating in Art, Physical Education, and/or Technology/STEAM
• Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district-testing program
• Evaluate students’ academic and social-emotional growth, keep records, and prepare progress reports
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to student needs
• Maintain communications with students, parents, staff, and the community
• Participate in district professional development programs as required
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director or designee

Salary/Benefits: Starting $25 per hour, commensurate with experience and education

Days/Hours: School Calendar, average up to 3 hours per week per special area
