Job summary

Hill 35 seeks a full-time classroom aide at Mountain Valley Elementary School to assist in implementing classroom programs under the supervision of a certified teacher. The incumbent will supervise students in various settings, help with records, and participate in training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college coursework or an associate degree preferred.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and math as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with disabilities as needed, including transfers and positioning.
• Help manage student behavior and intervene when necessary.
• Learn and adapt to each student’s diverse needs.
• Support individual students or small groups in motor skill and exercise activities.
• Supervise students during the day (lunch, bus, playground).
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff meetings and events.
• Adhere to district records policies and retention schedules.
