Qualifications

• Must have completed a RI certified Teacher Assistant Training Class and passed the ParaPro exam or hold an Associates degree or higher in education.
• Must be comfortable working with students with toileting and positioning needs.
• Part-time, 5 hours per day, 180 days per year at Richmond Elementary School.
• Position provides paid holidays, PTO and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with reinforcement of core curriculum in all areas.
• Work with students individually or in small groups.
• Maintain accurate records related to behavior plans and student progress.
• Participate in required professional development programs for staff development.
• Support students with disabilities across multiple domains including academics, mobility, communication and behavior.
