Job summary

East Greenwich Frenchtown School in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, is seeking a Building Paraprofessional to assist teachers and support students in individual and small-group settings.

The selected candidate will reinforce instruction, supervise students, and participate in IEP planning under supervision, with emphasis on supporting students including those with disabilities. Rhode Island Praxis or Associate's degree required; CPI/Safety Care training preferred.

Qualifications

• Para Pro or Associate's Degree or higher with coursework in Reading, Writing and Math.
• Teacher Assistant certification is required.
• Experience with children on the spectrum and following inclusion plans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in instruction and reinforcement of material for all students, including those with disabilities.
• Support classroom activities and provide routine clerical assistance as needed.
• Supervise students during play, lunch, and transitions according to school policy.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly learning environment and participate in IEP planning under supervision.
