Job summary

Fort Worth Independent School District is seeking a Specialist – Elementary Music to support music teachers across campuses. The role reports to the Director – Vocal and Elementary Music and involves mentoring staff, coordinating music programs, and driving instructional excellence district-wide.

Qualifications include a Bachelor in Music Education (Master's preferred) and Texas certification. This Exempt position requires strong leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to student achievement

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of K-12 music standards and curriculum.
  • Ability to plan and provide professional learning for staff.
  • Experience in program planning and development.
  • Experience facilitating professional learning sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and mentors teachers in best practices for elementary music.
  • Stays current with curriculum trends through seminars and research.
  • Communicates curriculum developments to improve student achievement.
  • Leads and motivates staff to improve music programs.
  • Models effective instructional techniques for teachers.
  • Aids in implementing technology in music classrooms.
  • Diagnoses instructional weaknesses and recommends improvements.
  • Plans and delivers professional learning.
  • Conducts observations and provides feedback.
