Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a district-level music education professional to provide school-based support to music teachers, enhancing instructional delivery and job-embedded professional development. The role reports to the Director - Vocal and Elementary Music and focuses on improving student achievement through strategic instructional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Music or Music Education required.
• Masters preferred.
• Valid Texas Teaching certificate with the endorsement in Music required; Kodaly and Orff preferred.
• 4 years teaching elementary music required; 7 years preferred; 3 years experience as a classroom consultant and/or clinician preferred.
• Experience facilitating or presenting professional learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and mentors teachers in the development of best practices in the elementary music classroom.
• Stays abreast of trends in curriculum development and music instruction by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, and/or conducting research.
• Leads and motivates staff to raise the quality of music programs.
• Plans and provides professional learning.
• Collaborates with principals, other specialists, teachers, state colleagues and community members to support diverse student populations.
