Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Media Technician at Church Creek Elementary School to perform library/media duties as designated by the school library media specialist.

The role includes operating circulation tasks, inventory, AV equipment, and media productions, while assisting students and staff with reference tools and databases. This is a ten‑month position with competitive benefits and non‑exempt status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate of arts degree or sixty college credits beyond the high school diploma.
• Experience with the use of Microsoft Office software programs.
• Possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs library/media duties as designated by the library media specialist.
• Operates circulation desk tasks: check-out, overdue notices, fines, reserves, and student databases.
• Assists with yearly inventory of print, non-print materials and equipment.
• Operates, schedules, and routes portable audiovisual equipment, video recorders, and TV cameras.
• Performs media production tasks, such as videotaping.
• Schedules and reserves audiovisual materials, retrieval system, and DVDs.
• Maintains security and cleanliness of the Library Media Center.
• Operates library media automation programs and enters data.
• Assists students and staff in using reference tools and databases.
• Supports the library media specialist in teaching individuals and groups.
