Job summary

Sumter School District seeks a Coordinator of Elementary Math and Science to develop and implement K-5 curriculum aligned with SC standards and the Graduate Profile. The role leads professional development, promotes effective pedagogy, and collaborates with staff to raise student achievement.

The position reports to the Director of Elementary Education and requires SC certification with elementary experience. Duties include data-informed instruction and district-wide curriculum support.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (P-5).
• Minimum of 5 years successful elementary teaching experience.
• Instructional Coach experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive K-5 curriculum and instruction program aligned with SC standards.
• Coordinate resources and professional learning to support teachers in Mathematics and Science.
• Collaborate with district staff to improve teaching and learning and use data to inform instruction.
• Lead regular meetings and professional learning communities to promote collaboration.
• Support STEM curriculum implementation and the use of technology for teaching and learning.
