Qualifications

• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate.
• Degree with endorsement to teach the subject and/or grades for which the teacher is assigned.

Responsibilities

• Review with principal or designee all plans, duties and schedules to be followed during the school day.
• Adhere to school system rules, procedures, policies, and regulations.
• Create an environment conducive to effective learning aligned to curriculum guidelines and student needs.
• Assist in fostering student attitudes through teaching values of citizenship and self-discipline.
• Organize daily class assignments and develop weekly lesson plans to maximize instructional time.
• Maintain records, attend meetings, and participate in professional development.
• Assess and communicate student progress to students and parents regularly with actionable feedback.
