Job summary

Lake Havasu Unified School District is seeking a Reading Intervention Specialist at a school site to support literacy growth for struggling readers. The role reports to the Principal and involves targeted instruction and collaboration with Literacy Coaches.

The position requires Arizona Reading Endorsement, a certified teaching credential, and at least five years of classroom or reading specialist experience; fingerprint clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Reading Endorsement and teaching certificate.
• Master's degree in education preferred.
• Five years of classroom or reading specialist experience.
• Knowledge of current reading trends and methodologies.
• IVP fingerprint clearance through AZ DPS.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to struggling readers in elementary schools.
• Assist teachers in interpreting DIBELS and other assessments for interventions.
• Schedule individuals or groups for intervention sessions.
• Collaborate with Literacy Coaches for teacher professional development.
• Communicate with District Literacy Coaches and State/County Reading Specialists.
• Serve as liaison to after-school tutoring programs.
• Support ELL interventions and assist teachers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Services.
