Job summary

Weber School District is seeking a Literacy Coach to increase instructional capacity for kindergarten through grade 3 teachers using the Science of Reading. The role involves facilitating coaching cycles, supporting data-informed instruction, and guiding IRPs within a district-wide literacy framework.

The coach will train and support paraprofessionals, collaborate with school leaders, and promote a proactive literacy culture across schools, with in-person collaboration and district-wide

Qualifications

• Has knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Board of Education adopted guides.
• Valid Utah Teaching/Educator License and relevant endorsement(s).
• Requires a Utah State Board of Education (USBE) approved cleared criminal background check.
• Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Apply literacy coaching principles using the Science of Reading to improve instruction.
• Serve as Literacy Coach for elementary teachers and paraprofessionals in the district region.
• Support development and monitoring of Individualized Reading Plans (IRPs) within the literacy team.
• Facilitate evidence-based literacy interventions and data-informed instruction.
