Job summary

Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks an exceptional ELEMENTARY LIBRARY TEACHER to join our community of teachers, students and stakeholders. This one-year assignment requires the teacher to demonstrate proficiency or awareness of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy within one year of hire.

The role reports to the Principal and supports ELL needs within a diverse student population, providing differentiated instruction and engaging learning experiences in the library media

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• RIDE Certification: All Grades Library Media Teacher PK-12.
• ESL Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Instruct and monitor students using technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities and provide feedback on assignments.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a warm, welcoming, culturally responsive environment.
• Monitor student progress with data and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and communicate with families.
• Provide diverse learning materials and resources for all students.
• Participate in departments, school, district, and parent meetings and professional development.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments according to standards.
