Responsibilities include assisting students, maintaining circulation, operating AV equipment, cataloging materials, and creating displays to encourage reading. Regular attendance and a positive, team-focused attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Promote a positive atmosphere in the Media Center.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Able to take initiative on projects and multi-task.
• Computer knowledge essential, word processing skills required.
• Willing to help students and staff use the Internet and library.
• Enjoy working with elementary school age students.
• Dependable, flexible self-starter with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in locating materials and using resources.
• Reinforce learning in reading, language arts, math and computer skills.
• Maintain circulation desk operations and files.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Operate audio-visual equipment as needed.
• Assist in cataloging and filing materials.
• Create and distribute educational materials.
• Serve as a reference guide for students.
• Arrange displays to encourage reading and learning.
• Assist with selection and weeding of materials.
• Maintain and use instructional equipment and PCs.
• Attend work regularly.
