Qualifications

• Ability to work well with children.
• Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience: some years working with children; clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and assistance to students in library resources and computing.
• Check books in and out and record fines.
• Prepare materials for classroom or reserve use.
• Request and schedule materials from outside sources.
• Prepare bulletin boards and instructional materials.
• Read to small groups of students when needed.
• Maintain library catalog and assist in inventory.
• Process new books and reconcile invoices; shelve returned materials.
• Compile and file reports and other documents as required.
• Supervise students and aid librarians to maintain order.
• Maintain library operation in the librarian's absence.
• Direct volunteers and student aides; follow safety procedures.
