Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers by working with students individually or in small groups under supervision. The role includes implementing lesson plans, maintaining materials and records, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Must have the fingerprint clearance card prior to processing. The position offers hourly pay starting at $15.38, with higher rates for additional responsibilities, and requires a 9-month support calendar.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to processing.
• Experience: Job related experience is desired.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments (e.g. Reading stories, listening to students reading, facilitating activities, motor perception programs, colors, number charts, etc.) to reinforce learning concepts.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans to assist the teacher in improving students' academic success.
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and student files/records for reliable information.
• Monitors students in various settings to provide a safe learning environment.
• Performs general record keeping and clerical functions to support teachers.
• Promotes good habits to improve student outcomes and development.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations to convey information related to job functions.
