Job summary

Avon Community School Corporation seeks a part-time Student Support/Instructional Assistant at Pine Tree Elementary to assist students in language arts and math. The schedule is 29 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–2:15pm, with an hourly pay starting at $18.50.

Qualifications

• Praxis examination completed or two years of college.
• Possess rapport with children and patience.
• Experience with young children and follow directions; tailor instruction to needs.
• Elementary Teacher License preferred.
• Maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Providing instruction and interventions to help students develop language arts and math.
• Group instruction and classroom instruction under teacher supervision.
• Maintain records of student progress and prepare progress reports.
• Assist in test administration, scoring and data entry.
• Consult and collaborate with teachers to select appropriate materials.
