ACCEL Schools is seeking a Part-Time Intervention Specialist for North Bend STEM Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role focuses on supporting students with IEPs in a rigorous, project-based learning environment using PLTW curriculum.

Key duties include coordinating with teachers, conducting assessments, facilitating IEPs, and implementing behavioral plans, while communicating with families and serving as an advisor to students.

Qualifications

• Current state teaching license is required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusive/co-teaching models.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook).
• Excellent organisation and time management.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities, adapt curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behaviour assessments.
• Write and implement behaviour improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals.
• Work to meet student achievement and culture goals and state targets.
• Apply research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons.
• Advise a designated group of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning of non-instructional activities and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
