Job summary

LAKE SHORE PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking an Intervention Specialist for its elementary team for the 2026-27 school year. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk elementary students in an academic support or intervention setting preferred.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
• Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to provide subject area intervention in core academic subjects.
• Administer, score, and record achievement on diagnostic tests as recommended for individual students.
• Work with individual students or small groups of students to deliver targeted academic support.
• Develop or devise special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Guide independent and remedial work.
• Alert the classroom teacher to any problem or information about a student.
• Maintain records of student work and progress.
• Monitor student performance, attendance, and intervention needs using district systems.
• Maintain orderly materials and work areas.
• Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Use instructional technology to facilitate learning.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal and Superintendent.
