Job summary

Green Brook Township Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Instructional Aide to support teaching staff and facilitate student learning. Under supervision of certified staff, you will assist in delivering instruction and reinforcing skills for students within the established curriculum.

You will work with individual students and small groups, help with enrichment and remedial activities, and assist with classroom operations.

Qualifications

• NJ teaching certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (Preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
• County Substitute Certificate (Required).
• Strong written and oral communication and human relations skills.
• Criminal history check completed and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering an effective instructional program.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in enrichment or remedial work in independent study, labs, or computer activities.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Help students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
• In emergency situations, substitute as needed.
• Assist in designing strategies to reinforce knowledge to meet student needs.
• Maintain inventory and organize educational materials and instructional documents.
• Process student paperwork as directed and organize the classroom for instruction.
• Support a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student needs.
• Participate in staff development to improve job-related skills and knowledge.
• Maintain confidentiality about students per laws and district policy.
• Perform other office duties as assigned by building administration.
