Job summary

Duff-Allen Central Elementary School in Eastern, Kentucky is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups and to monitor student progress. The role reports to the Principal and offers a full-time schedule with a starting date of immediately.

Responsibilities include tutoring, test administration and scoring, health and safety oversight, clerical tasks, and collaboration with teachers to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of KPA or two years of college.
• Successful experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutors individuals or small groups, reinforcing and implementing instruction and tracking progress.
• Administers and scores tests; maintains test information records.
• Administers medications and injections per training and state law.
• Monitors and reports student behavior according to approved procedures.
• Performs routine clerical duties and maintains classroom records.
• Supports teacher by setting up work areas, displays, and AV equipment.
• Confers with teachers to meet student needs.
• Ensures health and safety of students following practices and regulations.
• Assists in monitoring lunchroom and playground activities; supports drills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
