Job summary

Washington County Schools (TN) is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers, secretaries, and clerical staff in daily classroom operations. You will administer and score tests, prepare materials, supervise students during drills and meals, and assist with attendance and displays.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and may require a Para Professional test; some experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Para Professional Test required if fewer than 48 hours of college.
• At least 1 year experience preferred to provide service with appropriate training.
• Must meet health and physical qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Administers, scores, and records tests as teacher recommends for students.
• Operates and maintains classroom equipment for instructional use.
• Distributes and collects materials for instruction.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, and field trips.
• Checks notebooks and papers, supervises tests and makeup work.
