Job summary

Broward County Public Schools in Davie, FL seeks an Instructional Assistant to provide high-quality care and supervision to students and to support the instructional process within FOX TRAIL ELEMENTARY.

Under the supervision of teachers, you will help create instructional materials, supervise students, assist with lunch, rest periods, and daily living tasks as needed, and perform related clerical duties to support classroom operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a standard high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with children.
• Computer skills required as needed.
• Preferred: ParaPro testing or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist under teacher supervision in creating instructional materials.
• Ensure student safety and welfare during supervision.
• Provide classroom clerical support (notes, folders, data).
• Prepare and use instructional aids under teacher direction.
• Support lunchroom activities and supervision of naps/rest periods.
• Assist with personal care and mobility as needed within 30 minutes.
• Assist with testing materials and follow-up lessons as guided by teacher.
• Uphold safety and equal employment policies within the school.
