Qualifications

• A standard high school diploma or GED.
• The ability to interact and communicate effectively with children.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a teacher in the creation of instructional materials.
• Supervise and escort students to ensure safety and welfare as required.
• Provide classroom-related clerical support such as daily notes, student folders, and data collection.
• Prepare and use instructional materials and teaching aids under the direction of the teacher.
• Assist with lunchroom activities and supervise students during meals.
• Assist in supervising nap and rest periods as needed.
• Assist with providing care for children when the teacher is not present for a period not to exceed 30 minutes.
• Construct and design tests and worksheets under teacher guidelines.
• Follow-up lessons and supervise small group activities.
• Assist individual students as assigned by the teacher.
