Responsibilities

• Give minor first aid to the sick and injured.
• Contact school nurse, or designated person in case of major illness or serious injury.
• Contact parents of ill or injured students in accordance with policy.
• Confers with nurse regarding students health concerns.
• Maintains files and health office records.
• Orders supplies as needed.
• Performs clerical duties for school nurse.
• Schedules and helps perform routine screening and testing procedures.
• Distributes and collects health appraisal forms.
• Reviews health forms and refers to nurse all pupils needing follow-up.
• Appraising immunization needs of students; makes referrals as needed.
• Observes and records symptoms of health needs of students and informs nurse.
• Assists in preparing accident reports on serious accidents.
• Performs duties as directed by school nurse.
• Assists in school office as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
